Meet Dezert Eagle Hip Hop MC from Maryland...

                                                                    DEZERT EAGLE

E.H.M.P.: How did you get down with Elegant Hoodness ?
Dezert: I got down with  Elegant Hoodness threw a comrades and mentor of mine know as Armah Ogunde back in early summer of 2013 late May.

E.H.M.P.:  What does your name A Dezert Named Eagle mean?

Dezert: Interesting question, well the name A Dezert Named Eagle has a real deep and profound meaning that would surely go over the heads of many yet appreciated in the same aspect for its broad uniqueness. Dezert Eagle was giving to me by my elder cousin at the early age of 13 signifying young gun with a hard kick due to the fact i was a child prodigy in the art of lyricism. I latter abandon the name due to misunderstanding and stereotypes until my Senior year of high school where i latter adopted the name once more giving it a broader, spiritual and personal meaning now representing the the Egyptian Deity Horus whom is the sun of the light, if you do your extensive research you will find that a Desert Eagle is simply a Hawk which is the animal principal of the deity Horus. The Eagle also represents the Great Spirit, the connection to the Divine.  It is the ability to live in the realm of spirit, and yet remain connected and balanced within the realm of Earth.  Eagle soars, and is quick to observe expansiveness within the overall pattern of life. From the heights of the clouds, Eagle is close to the heavens where the Great Spirit dwells. The fathers of Eagle are considered to be the most sacred of healing tools. They have been used for centuries by shamans to cleanse the auras of patients coming to them for healing.Within the belief systems of Native American tribes, Eagle represents a state of grace achieved through hard work, understanding, and a completion of the tests of initiation which results in the taking of one's personal power.  It is only through the trial of experienced the lows in life as well as the highs, and through the trial of trusting one's connection to the Great Spirit. It was winter 2012 when the name Dezert Eagel to a twist of change into A Dezert Named Eagle threw the influence of Hip Hop legendary group A Trip Called Quest which allowed the name to still hold its unique spiritual meaning and Hip Hop flavor.

E.H.M.P.:  Do you want to get signed to a major or would you rather stay indie?

Dezert: Honestly in this point of my life i wouldn't mind either or, i have been an independent underground hip hop artist for ten years yet i can honestly say i would not mind the assistance of a label at the current moment for i believe that any situation where presented in life is what we make it rather a artist is independent or signed, so i am open for what ever opportunity is presentable to me at the current moment.

E.H.M.P.: What is your objective in music?

Dezert: My objective in music is simply to touch reach excite and immortally uplift hip hop and humanity to a point it has yet to experience and witness in the history of hip hop with my unique style know as "Urban Confuciusim"!

E.H.M.P.: Do you consider yourself a Hip Hop artist or rapper and why?

Dezert: I consider my self a Hip Hop artist and find it to be quite of an insult to label myself as a Rap artist all off the fact that a majority of the artist out today are just simply rappers and not hip hop MCs completely ignorant to the trial and tribulations it takes to be able to hold such title as MC.

E.H.M.P.: Who are some of the acts you would like to work with in the near future?

Dezert: I would love to open up for artist such as Nas, The Roots, Common, Kendrick Lamar and further more, basically the legends that i grew influenced to as well as a few of the MCs in my generation whom are surly carrying on the hip hop tradition, Also classic artist of other genre such as Tears For Fear, Linkin Park, U2 and etc.

VICTORY TALK'S ABOUT GROWING UP IN THE L.E.S. N MORE

 VICTORY

E.H.M.P.: Break down the meaning of your name?

VICTORY: I chose the name Victory because I felt like the odds were always against me but I know I will prevail in the end. Now is my time to show people that success is possible.

E.H.M.P.: Tell me how growing up in L.E.S. has inspired your music?

VICTORY: Growing up in the L.E.S was rough. There was a lot of senseless violence, people dying and going to jail over little things. Seeing everything that was happening around me made me want to make more positive and uplifting music that people can feel and relate to.

E.H.M.P.:  Are you more concerned with your lyrics or production and why?

VICTORY: I'm really concerned with both but if i had to choose just one I would say production because I want you to feel it as soon as my track comes on I want people to run to the dance floor.

E.H.M.P.: Where can we listen and or download your music?

VICTORY: I have a mixtape on Datpiff.com its doing big numbers right now so definitely download that just search for Victory No Sleep and also my single is on Itunes its called money music and lyrics so check that out to

E.H.M.P.: Where do you see yourself in a year from now?

VICTORY: In a year I see myself being on the radio with a big single and still grinding hard promoting new projects to come.

E.H.M.P.: Any last word and or shout outs?

VICTORY: I would like to shout out my Family of course without them I wouldn’t be who I am today and also I would like to my manager/producer Lolo she help me with everything without her I wouldn’t of even made this far.
