GEMZ GET'S THE LOW DOWN WITH NC'S OWN YOUNG DIRT

YOUNG DIRT
Making waves in the music industry is no easy task, but Reidsville, North Carolina representer, Young Dirt, when you grind hard and sleep less, anything is possible. Recently gaining a major label distribution deal, Young Dirt is ready to share with the world his sound and his story.
G3MZ: For the people that don’t know who you are tell them a little about where you’re from and how long you been doing this?
Young Dirt: I go by the name Young Dirt. I was born in Gastonia, North Carolina, raised everywhere between there, Buffalo, NY, Southside Chicago, Illinois, York, Clover and Rock Hill, South Carolina, and mostly Reidsville, North Carolina. I've been doing music for as long as I can remember but only professionally for about 2 years or so.
G3MZ: Being from the south do you feel like the south gets misrepresented?
Young Dirt: I don’t feel like the south gets misrepresented, but the streets choose a lot of the same kind of southern rappers to give the most press and promotion to, there’s no one kind of southern rapper, but a lot of them do have similar styles, so most times when an artist from the south sounds different they don’t think they're "southern".
G3MZ: What’s the best experience you've had so far?
Young Dirt: I think the best experience I've had in the music business so far has been touring with a radio single. I've done so many promotional shows trying to break singles when the crowd didn’t know the song that it was kind of overwhelming to have a crowd singing along to the song and actually knowing and reciting my rhymes that I wrote. That's a powerful feeling, also makes you realize the responsibility you have as an entertainer.
G3MZ: Who influenced your style coming up?
Young Dirt: When I was coming up I listened to east coast music, Rakim, Big L, Jay-Z, a little Nas, Chino XL, Crooked I and artists like that. I did more freestyles than songs. It took me a LONG time to get out of just writing lyrics and actually making songs, I got to give my big homey Carlos Diaz credit for schooling me to the importance of catchy hooks in the music business.
G3MZ: Let us know about your current project and where can people get it?
Young Dirt: I have 2 recent mixtapes with exclusively Young Dirt music available on datpiff.com, "Born Alone Die Alone" and "2 Real 4 Radio - Vol 1". Both are released through You World Global Media in Atlanta. Also I just hosted DJ 7 Thirty's "Block Huggaz" Vol 65 and released 5 tracks on it mixed in with music from some industry heavyweights. The latest project I am working on is my third studio mixtape to be released this summer which is as of yet untitled, but will be hosted and sponsored by Fleet DJs and Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes.

G3MZ: How do you feel about mainstream right now?
Young Dirt: Honestly I don’t feel about mainstream. Mainstream is the product of what's popular in the boardroom and the streets. If the streets are supporting something or the people with the check are paying for the promotion, I can't really say anything other than congratulations. Other than that, it doesn’t make or break me. I got my blinders on running my own race.

G3MZ: How can people contact you for bookings or features?

Young Dirt: For bookings or features you can contact Demetrius Williams at Demetrius.Djdredz.Williams@gmail.com or Ms. L. B. Whitener at MSLBMGMT@gmail.com, or you can contact my business facebook at www.facebook.com/youngdirtofficial or direct message on twitter @YoungDirt.

G3MZ: Any shout outs?
Young Dirt: Definitely have to thank God for breath in my body, shout out my management team MsLB, Demetrius and DRS Productions, You World Global Media, my family G.H.S.L. Fam, Sesame Eagle Gang, the city of Reidsville, NC, my whole Burris, Guinn, Ross fam from SC to NC to Chicago, and anybody that ever clicked a Young Dirt link, liked or retweeted a Young Dirt status, played a Young Dirt CD or supported a Young Dirt show! Hell even the ones in the street talking bad on my name, I wouldn’t be nothing without each and every one of ya’ll!

GET ACQUAINTED w/ REAL LIVE ENT. w/ N.A.B.

 REAL LIVE ENTERTAIMENT

N.A.B.: Let’s begin by elaborating on who Real Music Entertainment consists of?

REAL MUSIC:  As of right now Real Music Entertainment consists of five artists (Pk the Pastor, Tae-d, DIz, Blac-Out, and Jevone Moore), two engineers (Foeva INC and Trillwun Productionz), and finally me, the founder of the company, Francisco Sukhan. Each of us working together to create something unique to bring light to hip hop music.

N.A.B.: How did you guys come together as a group?

REAL MUSIC: There was too much talent around for us not to get together and start a movement. It began with Pk the Pastor allowing me to represent him and have him as the lead artist of our movement. From there we connected with one of the most innovative engineers I have ever met (Trillwun Productionz) and it has grown from there.

N.A.B.: Tell us who plays what position within the company?

REAL MUSIC: Each entertainer is a multi-talented solo artist. Each doing their part to aid promotion and in the production of all of our music. We also have the two best engineers doing what they do in our area. Based on their own experience, they have acquired the skills to create the other half of our unit. Video production, beats, graphic design, mastering, etc. If it has to do with music, they can do it. Last but not least, I am the founder, CEO, promoter, and manager. I established this company almost a year ago with no intent on turning back. Everyone involved just needs someone to believe in them and let them know that it really is possible and not to throw away the talent at hand. That's me.

N.A.B.: What type of music do you guys contribute to the music industry?

REAL MUSIC: With no discrimination on any genre of music, we intend on being heard in EVERY ear. We have already done shows with country artist "Stormy Lee" where we mixed hip hop/R&B with country in front of a live audience. We have collaborations with Reggaeton artists and we're even planning on touching rock music. Anything goes, its Real Music.

N.A.B.: Talk about your new music that’s we should be up to par with?

REAL MUSIC: We have several mix tapes out right now to include "Real Music Promo Disc One: The First Chapter in the Book", which has collaborations and solo songs from each artist combined in a compilation mix tape, "Greater than Fate", which is PK the Pastor's debut mix tape, "Hip Hop Grindr", DIz's first official mix tape and "The Versatility” Mix tape by Tae-d. We also have upcoming mix tapes by Jevone Moore and Blac-Out. All of which are available on datpiff.com

N.A.B.: How can we stay updated with Real Music Entertainment? Any websites, social networks and or blogs?

REAL MUSIC: You can find us at www.realmusicent.com which is our personal website containing all mix tapes, videos, and any other information regarding our business. @realmusic_inc on Twitter, realmusic_entertainment on Instagram, and facebook.com/realmusic350...

N.A.B.: Last words and shout outs?

REAL MUSIC: I would like to send love to all of our supporters that have been there since day one (especially our #1 fan, you know who you are). You have kept us moving. A special shout out to our men behind the scenes helping us make it happen. We couldn't be where we're at without their help, Trillwun Productionz and Foeva INC. Some of the most talented engineers in Texas. Shout out to DJ Big Redd from Swishahouse providing show opportunities on our turf and an even stronger shout out to the Elegant Hoodness Program and A.D. the General for making this all possible and making our future brighter.

REEK 610 NEWEST WINNER @ELEGANT HOODNESS NYC

REEK 610

E.H.M.P.: Break down the meaning of your name Reek 610?

REEK610: Reek is the nickname for my first name. I added the 610 because it's the area code where I'm from. My man told me there's a Reek in every hood so I added the "610!"

E.H.M.P.: You recently won 2nd place at The Elegant Hoodness in NYC. You've also received an early nomination for the Top Ten Artists of the Year Awards 2014.. How was your experience and would you recommend others to the program?
REEK610: It was a great experience, a lot of talented artist came out and did their thing. It's great promotion for upcoming artist who need more exposure. I strongly recommend it to anyone who is on their grind and wants to continue their music grind.

E.H.M.P.: Where can our listeners listen to or download your music?
REEK610: Go to YouTube and type in "Reek610" and all the videos we have will be on there.

E.H.M.P.: What and who are some of your inspirations?
REEK610: A lot of my raps are inspired from everyday situations I deal with. Some of my musical inspirations are Jay Z, Drake and Kanye. They are all lyrically talented and great at what they do.

E.H.M.P.: What separates you from the average philly rapper?

REEK610: The main thing that separates me from the average Philly rapper is I'm not technically a "Philly" rapper, I'm about 20 minutes outside the city in a small town, Pottstown. Out here in the 610 we have our own unique sound that separates us from not only Philly, but other parts of the world.

E.H.M.P.: Any last words and or shout outs?

REEK610: Shout out 610 music and everybody apart of the 610 movement.
